- Cross-Service Architecture & Debugging: Trace, isolate, and resolve complex, systemic bugs across service boundaries (UI, API gateways, subgraphs, and legacy codebases) to ensure seamless performance.
- API & Data Integrity: Define clear data contracts between microservices, maintain schema federation hygiene, and architect secure, scalable real-time WebSocket data flows.
- Promote Reliability and Performance: Write and run comprehensive tests, instrument critical system metrics, and build operational dashboards to proactively monitor system health and minimize downtime.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and constructive code reviews to mid-level and junior engineers, encouraging best practices and continuous learning across the team.
- Continuous Engineering Improvement: Collaborate across adjacent QA, DevOps, and architecture teams to accelerate CI/CD pipelines, enhance stack-wide type safety, and deprecate legacy systems without disrupting product delivery.

- Data & Real-Time Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL preferred), query builders/ORMs (like Knex), and experience scaling real-time web applications using WebSockets.
- Security & Infrastructure Fundamentals: Solid understanding of modern authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth/OIDC, JWT) alongside familiarity with Docker, containerization, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Problem Solver & Systems Thinker: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dive into unfamiliar or legacy codebases, deduce business logic, and refactor effectively.
- Compelling Communicator: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an innate ability to lead cross-team design discussions and articulate technical strategies clearly to stakeholders.
