About the role
We're hiring Senior Software Development Engineers (SDE3) across multiple engineering teams in our Seattle office. This is a batch hiring effort spanning teams throughout the company — including groups like USA Regional Experiences and High Value Send Experience, among others — so your background and interests will help determine the best team fit during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and architecture for complex, often greenfield problems — breaking ambiguity into clear technical strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Build full-stack, customer-facing features spanning web and mobile front ends (TypeScript, React or React Native) and backend services (Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python).
- Partner with product managers, designers, analysts, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver scalable, high-quality software with a customer-centric mindset.
- Ship well-tested, observable, well-documented, efficient, and resilient systems that meet reliability and latency expectations.
- Use AI-powered development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver faster while maintaining quality and security standards.
- Drive improvements to team processes, shape cross-team technical designs, and divide complex features into components that can be parallelized for timely delivery.
- Strength engineering culture by mentoring peers, leading technical discussions, conducting code reviews, participating in interviews, and supporting onboarding.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support the reliability of your team's services.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, including experience building and operating systems end-to-end.
- Strong computer science, web, and native app fundamentals, with solid knowledge of design patterns.
- 3+ years of hands-on React or React Native development experience, and experience building customer-facing experiences at product scale.
- Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages — TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience using AI tools throughout your own software development workflow (e.g., Claude Code or similar).
- Experience with distributed, large-scale systems and a working understanding of service-oriented or microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including managed services.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a track record of working cross-functionally with product, design, and analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in FinTech, payments, or another regulated industry where reliability, security, and compliance shape engineering decisions.
Skills
