Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Contract Role)

About the role

We are searching for a highly competent and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and drive the development of in-house applications. This contract role involves creating seamless, secure solutions and ensuring exceptional user experiences. As a full-stack developer, you will work across the stack, contributing to both front-end and back-end architecture and implementation in a fun, fast-paced, and demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop RESTful API endpoints, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to develop dynamic, responsive, and user-friendly web applications.
• Define data models and database schemas; manage relational or NoSQL databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Create and maintain documentation for application design, configuration, and maintenance.
• Provide accurate timelines for assigned tasks.
• Participate in scheduled on-call rotation and respond to emergencies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience working with medium/large complex codebases.
• Proven experience in full-stack development.
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience in REST API design and implementation.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in React.
• Knowledgeable in UI/UX design principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to collaborate and develop strong, positive team relationships.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• In-depth database management, cloud technologies (AWS), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of React best practices and ability to explain them to other developers.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with automated deployment tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies such as SAFe or Scrum.

Pay

The estimated base pay range for this contract role is $79.38—$119.04 USD per hour. Sony Interactive Entertainment considers several factors when setting base pay, including competitive benchmarking data, market location, and job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
