What You’ll Do
- Own medium-to-large features and services end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing strategy, and production readiness
- Lead troubleshooting and performance tuning (application and database)
- Drive API/integration work (Apigee patterns, identity/security considerations)
- Improve engineering practices (CI/CD, test automation, code quality) and mentor others
- Ensure established standards for observability, deployment, resiliency, and developer productivity across teams
- Partner with product, architecture, and security stakeholders; make and communicate trade-offs clearly
- Mentor team members and ensure High-Performing Engineering standards are chosen and monitored with the team
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, testing, debugging, and design
- Experience integrating systems via APIs and working with enterprise standards (security, logging, monitoring)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience troubleshooting application and database performance issues
- Experience or openness to using AI-assisted software development tools

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting production applications
- Demonstrated ability to work across frontend, backend, API, cloud, and operational concerns
- Experience working in enterprise environments with security, monitoring, and reliability standards
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience troubleshooting application and database performance issues
- Experience or openness to using AI-assisted software development tools
Core Technologies
- Cloud: AWS-based solutions using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, ECS/EKS, or other container-based runtime platforms
- Backend: Java, Spring Boot
- Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue
- API & Integration: REST APIs, event-driven architecture, enterprise integration patterns
