Senior Full Stack Engineer, Ruby and React

Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with expertise in Ruby and React for a direct hire opportunity.

About the role

This individual will work end-to-end on new features, enhancements, and defect resolution for one or more software platforms. You will collaborate closely with the Product Management team throughout the software development process, detailing requirements, reviewing work in progress, and addressing issues found in manual test efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop web applications using React for the front end and Ruby on Rails for the back end
• Demonstrate a strong grasp of system design, architecture, and trade-offs
• Mentor junior engineers effectively
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design
• Actively contribute to daily stand-up meetings
• Engage in peer code reviews as part of the standard SDLC and change process

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions
• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience or 8+ years of Python development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React
• 4+ years of front-end and back-end test automation development using RSpec, Cucumber, or similar tools
• Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts and modeling practices
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS)
• Ability to work in an Agile/Kanban methodology
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities
• Collaborative approach to software development

Qualifications

• Technical leadership or management experience is a plus
