Senior Full Stack Engineer, Autopilot

About the role

The Autopilot team at Rocket Money is responsible for creating tools and financial products that help millions of members save money. This role involves making key decisions for the future of banking and investment systems, developing with TypeScript, collaborating with stakeholders, architecting scalable solutions, and owning the full lifecycle of Autopilot technology.

Responsibilities

• Make key decisions for the future of our banking and investment systems that balance technical concerns with business concerns.
• Develop with TypeScript across the stack, building user interfaces using React and building back-ends in Node & GraphQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand nuanced business needs and communicate technical complexity and tradeoffs clearly when requirements evolve.
• Architect scalable solutions that may differ from initial requests but better serve the underlying business objectives and long-term technical sustainability.
• Own the full lifecycle of Autopilot technology, from initial planning and development through ongoing production maintenance and optimization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience working with some combination of Node/TypeScript, React/React Native, GraphQL, and Postgres (or similar relational database).
• Able to understand and solve performance and user experience issues.
• Understanding of vendor integrations and ability to investigate and solve related issues.
• Motivated to learn and teach others, seeking to grow as an engineer and help those around you grow as well.
• Thrives in a growing organization and is comfortable tackling challenging problems.

Qualifications

• Not just interested in what you're building, but also why you're building it.
• Understands observability and enjoys diving into the details to solve performance and user experience issues.

Skills

• Experience with TypeScript.

Pay

Salary range of $150,000 - $185,000/year + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
