About the role

At SchooLinks, Product Engineers own the entire journey from problem to production. They start with a user problem or business goal, define their own requirements, build the experience, test it, and communicate the results directly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Receive context on user problems or business goals, not detailed specs
  • Define and break down work, manage scope independently
  • Make design and UX decisions, seek lightweight feedback
  • Write and test code, hold oneself accountable for quality
  • Communicate progress and outcomes directly to stakeholders

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end from problem to production
  • Strong Python and React proficiency, built through real production work
  • Solid AWS and SQL experience in production environments
  • Comfortable with async task management and production system operations
  • Define requirements from a problem statement rather than waiting for a spec
  • Strong written communication: specs, release notes, and documentation are part of how you deliver

Qualifications

  • Based in Austin, Texas, with flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week
  • We cannot sponsor employment-based visas (H-1B, O-1, EB-3, etc.)
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Pay

$100,000 - $160,000 base + equity + bonus

Schedule
