About the role
At SchooLinks, Product Engineers own the entire journey from problem to production. They start with a user problem or business goal, define their own requirements, build the experience, test it, and communicate the results directly to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Receive context on user problems or business goals, not detailed specs
- Define and break down work, manage scope independently
- Make design and UX decisions, seek lightweight feedback
- Write and test code, hold oneself accountable for quality
- Communicate progress and outcomes directly to stakeholders
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end from problem to production
- Strong Python and React proficiency, built through real production work
- Solid AWS and SQL experience in production environments
- Comfortable with async task management and production system operations
- Define requirements from a problem statement rather than waiting for a spec
- Strong written communication: specs, release notes, and documentation are part of how you deliver
Qualifications
- Based in Austin, Texas, with flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week
- We cannot sponsor employment-based visas (H-1B, O-1, EB-3, etc.)
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Pay
$100,000 - $160,000 base + equity + bonus
