Senior Front End Software Engineer (Vault)

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to break down and implement new features
• Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code
• Take ownership of your work, partnering with QA to ensure that the appropriate parts of the application are tested and that tests are complete
• Establish standards and advocate for performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability
• Identify technical debt and collaborate with the team to minimize it
• Direct and support decisions for new frameworks and technical direction
• Review PRs and provide constructive, pointed feedback to help fellow team members grow
• Collaborate with the Bitwarden open-source community to review community contributions and address issues in Github

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS for front-end development
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex problems
• Understanding of relational database design, optimization, and SQL Server (a strong plus)
• Experience with Rust for cross-platform SDK development (a strong plus)
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset
• Openness and authenticity combined with excellent communication skills
• Excitement and enthusiasm for open source and for better internet security
• Excellent problem-solving skills – you might not know all the answers, but you know how to find and communicate the solution

Qualifications

• User of Bitwarden
• Startup experience
• Open source experience
• Experience in Node.js and Electron
• Experience using Claude Code, or a similar generative AI coding platform (nice-to-have)

Pay

• In the United States, the starting base compensation range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000.
