The Role
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team responsible for the entire customer journey, from product discovery to maximizing promotions and engaging with our stage-based parent education platform. This role involves owning the e-commerce platform, including product detail pages, cart, checkout, fulfillment, content CMS, and more. The ideal candidate will have a platform focus, scaling our global audience to millions of customers while enhancing our technology, increasing velocity, and maintaining a high-quality standard.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, develop, and optimize primary web applications and APIs that drive our global e-commerce and digital parent experiences.
- Create scalable CMS models and configuration systems aligned with our product roadmap and expanding global audience.
- Partner with integrated Product, Design, and Mobile teams to ship impactful features supporting every stage of the customer journey.
- Own the security, reliability, and performance of our frontend stack, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of parents.
- Guide technical direction by evaluating new vendors and platforms, weighing the benefits of internal builds versus third-party integrations.
- Champion engineering excellence by refining technical standards, development workflows, and team-wide best practices.
- Leverage AI coding tooling and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development while maintaining a high quality bar and sound engineering judgment.
- Iterate on CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (Vercel) to ensure consistent, high-velocity software delivery.
- Foster a collaborative culture through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and a shared commitment to our mission.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience and strong proficiency in shipping modern web applications (Next.js, React, TypeScript, etc).
- Experience with API design and best practices for data/responsibilities on the client vs server.
- Writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines (Jest, Playwright, Vitest, etc).
- Professional experience with CMS tools and strategy (Contentful, Sanity, etc).
- Professional experience with A/B testing and analytics (Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Rudderstack, Amplitude, etc).
- Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or equivalent server-side programming languages.
- Familiarity with caching, static, and dynamic rendering modes in Next.js.
- Clear written and verbal communication; strong collaborator and self-starter.
Nice to Have
- Background in consumer subscription or e-commerce platforms (Shopify especially).
- Hands-on experience with Vercel infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Swift, Java/Kotlin, or other client-side programming languages (with a personal methodology to learn new languages).
- Strong understanding of the strengths and limitations of AI-assisted software development, including when to rely on generated solutions and when deeper engineering analysis is required.
- Passion for early childhood development and empathy for parents as product users.

Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
