Senior FPGA Engineer, Space
About the Role
Anduril Industries is seeking a Sr. FPGA/SoC Engineer to join our Space team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will develop FPGA/SoC firmware, oversee 3rd party development, and collaborate with internal and external teams to create products for space applications. This position involves architecture, RTL generation, and debug, focusing on Xilinx SoC/FPGA technologies.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly develop, test, and implement FPGA designs using Xilinx SoC/FPGA.
- Integrate third-party vendor IP as needed.
- Work with third-party developers to ensure timely product success.
- Perform digital circuit design, VHDL/Verilog coding, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, simulation, and verification.
- Participate in the entire design life cycle, from requirements and concept to design and hands-on testing/board bring-up.
- Implement various signal types, including high-speed comms (ethernet, serial) and signal processing (analog, digital).
- Ensure designs meet safety and performance standards, with traceability to top-level system requirements.
- Investigate and resolve bugs found during hands-on testing at both the HDL and system levels.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in FPGA/HDL hardware design, with experience in Xilinx SoC (Versal) highly preferred.
- Familiarity with design software like Vivado (preferred), ModelSim, or Quartus.
- Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of designing for safety-critical functions.
- Experience with FPGA interfaces and high-speed buses.
- Experience with Systems on a Chip (SoC).
- Low-level firmware (C/C++) development for bring-up and test.
- Experience writing HDL for space applications.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $191,000—$253,000 USD. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
