Our BCG X teams own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing, and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to fully embrace AI. Our product offerings span from fully custom builds to industry-specific leading-edge AI software solutions.
As a (Senior) Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you’ll be part of our rapidly growing engineering team and help build the next generation of AI solutions. You’ll partner with clients across BCG regions and industries on key topics like climate change, enabling them to design, build, and deploy new and innovative solutions. Additional responsibilities include developing and delivering thought leadership in scientific communities, publishing papers, and leading conferences on behalf of BCG X.
Responsibilities
- Apply software development practices and standards to develop robust and maintainable software.
- Actively participate in every part of the software development life cycle.
- Guide non-technical teams and consultants in best practices for robust software development.
- Optimize and enhance the computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.
- Work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, interacting directly with clients on new features for future product releases.
- Collaborate in teams to share software design and solution ideas.
- Solve problems across a breadth of industries and topics as a natural problem-solver and intellectually curious individual.
Requirements
- Passion for software development, large-scale data analytics, and transforming organizations into AI-led innovative companies.
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office and be available in the office as directed.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and, at times, work extended hours for accelerated personal and professional growth.
- Any degree programs (including part-time) must be completed before starting at BCG.

Pay
First-year base compensation for this role is:
- Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $110,000 USD
- Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $145,000 USD
- Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $160,000 USD
- Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $190,000 USD
