Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver AI capabilities that support clinical product experiences. The engineer will move initiatives from concept through deployment, with a strong emphasis on validation, governance, and practical use in a patient-facing environment. The work will also include building reusable AI infrastructure and helping raise the team’s overall fluency in applied AI. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000 annually Responsibilities Embed with teams to own AI solutions from inception to deployment. Determine validation criteria for initiatives, ensuring only vetted features go to patients. Develop tools for multi-step orchestration and human-in-the-loop processes. Architect AI features on the company's platform with shared model serving and monitoring tools. Establish pre-build evaluation criteria and triggers to streamline governance processes. Document reusable assets from each project to enhance team capabilities. Enhance AI fluency across teams through collaborative design efforts and mentorship. Qualifications Six or more years of experience in building and delivering software, particularly AI-powered features in production. Proficiency in Python and practical cloud engineering, especially with APIs and AWS. Ability to evaluate models and reason about their performance with a methodical approach. Strong product delivery instincts to translate product needs into validated designs. Judgment to maintain validation standards while communicating with stakeholders across clinical, product, and engineering fields.
