About the role

Provides expert advice on the investigation and assessment of equipment damages and failure through detailed reports, expert testimony, and consultation.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates and assesses equipment specific damages due to failures and determines the origin of failure for insurers and litigation.
  • Determines and documents the failure analysis and causation of failures using comprehensive root cause analysis of faults and unexpected behavior based on measured data and numerical models.
  • Provides expert consultation following inspection procedures and regulatory requirements for damage and failure investigation and analysis.
  • Estimates repair and/or replacement costs to restore the equipment to a pre-loss condition.
  • Facilitates equipment recovery activities with decontamination firms and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Produces detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.
  • Testifies in court as an expert witness on the analysis of evidence and conclusions reached.
  • Serves as a commercial equipment loss consultant, investigating cause of loss and recovery options.
  • Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
  • Adheres to quality assurance measures and accreditation standards as mandated by all applicable rules, policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with sales and operations managers, architects, developers, insurance adjusters, claims managers and attorneys to develop demand for EFI professional services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travels as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience with engineering reporting preferred.

  • Be able lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day

Pay

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $105,000 annually.
