About the role
The Senior Food and Beverage Operations Manager supervises daily F&B shift operations, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and procedures. They manage day-to-day operations, monitor quality and standards, and meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Assists in ordering F&B supplies, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
- Safeguards and supervises F&B shift operations, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.
- Supports and supervises an effective monthly self-inspection program.
- Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions.
- Safeguards and supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
- Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Maintains the operating budget and verifies that standards and legal obligations are followed.
- Coordinates cleaning programs in all F&B areas, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements.
- Communicates areas needing attention to staff and follows up to ensure understanding.
- Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, standards, and meeting customer expectations.
- Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
- Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Responds in a timely manner to customer service department requests.
- Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Administers the performance appraisal process for direct report managers.
- Conducts hourly employee performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
- Verifies that employees are treated fairly and equitably, striving to improve employee retention.
- Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or helps others improve their knowledge or skills.
- Verifies that disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.
- Interviews and hires management and hourly employees with the appropriate skills to meet the business needs of the operation.
- Manages beverage purchasing and control procedures and ensures staff is trained accordingly.
- Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and/or managers.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 5 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area. OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 3 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
