About the role

Develop commercially successful flavors as outlined by an approved technical project using GRAS and FDA-approved ingredients.

Develop intimacy with customers while supporting BU beverage, Sales, and Marketing for reactive and proactive flavor development projects for the short and long term.

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of specialty chemicals and the ability to use/apply them to develop successful flavors.

Manage creative flavor development activities with laboratory technicians.

Ability and willingness to take project leadership role for Beverages for short and long-term R&T Innovation group initiatives.

Oversee and take responsibility for first-time production-made flavors while resolving and troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop commercially successful flavors as outlined by an approved technical project using GRAS and FDA-approved ingredients.
  • Develop intimacy with customers while supporting BU beverage, Sales, and Marketing for reactive and proactive flavor development projects for the short and long term.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of specialty chemicals and the ability to use/apply them to develop successful flavors.
  • Manage creative flavor development activities with laboratory technicians.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a B.S. degree in a relevant field.
  • 10 years minimum of flavor development/formulation experience, with knowledge of U.S. and international flavor regulations.
  • Previous understanding of raw materials such as essential oils, botanical extracts, and specialty aromatic ingredients and their use in flavor development.
  • Knowledge of flavor production, product applications, market trends, sales function/role, understanding of laboratory equipment, and a broad customer base.

  • A strong technical background is required.

  • Technical expertise in flavor development and formulation.
  • Ability to work with laboratory technicians and manage creative flavor development activities.
  • Leadership skills for project management.
  • Problem-solving skills related to flavor/systems development and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Understanding of raw materials and their use in flavor development.
  • Knowledge of flavor production, product applications, market trends, sales function/role, understanding of laboratory equipment, and a broad customer base.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this position is USD 140000.00 - USD 199000.00.

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
