Senior Firewall Engineer

About the role

This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hands-on implementation of enterprise firewall and network security solutions for private cloud
• Design and implement secure firewall architectures supporting various services like ECS and IaaS
• Develop network segmentation strategies using leading security technologies
• Integrate enterprise security controls, ensuring compliance with NATO security requirements
• Collaborate across teams to embed security services into platform solutions
• Automate security processes using Infrastructure as Code and related technologies
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on network security and engineering best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field plus 8-12 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of related experience
• Active NATO Secret clearance (or higher) required
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise firewall and network security solutions
• Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls in policy management and security architecture
• Familiarity with VMware NSX Distributed Firewall and Cisco security technologies or equivalent platforms
• Deep understanding of enterprise security architecture and defence-in-depth principles
• Significant experience with security automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible and Terraform

Pay

$107,900 – $195,050 annually
