Senior Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

BR+A Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer in their Boston office. The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of experience, an engineering degree, and a registered professional engineer license.

Responsibilities

• Design Fire Protection systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience in specification writing
• Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Cook up hydraulic calculations for sprinklers and standpipes using computer programs
• Develops thorough knowledge of NFPA Codes
• Basic knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
• Manages work planning and oversees the design process within available hours
• Works with clients and contractors
• Oversees deliverables to and from clients

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• PE License
• 10-20 years of related experience

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of NFPA Codes
• Basic knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems
• Understanding of work planning and managing the design process
• Ability to work independently and as part of the project team

• Takes ownership of assignments

Pay

Salary Range for 10-20 years of experience: $120,000 - $180,000
