Senior Fire Alarm Systems Technician

About the role

Fire Alarm Technicians play a crucial role in commissioning fire safety systems and ensuring their optimal performance. This includes loading software programs, implementing necessary modifications, and interfacing with various trades to complete projects that exceed customer expectations. You will also mentor less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in operational testing, verification, and acceptance by running routine reports, conducting final inspections, and supporting customer acceptance and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) approvals.
• Assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings.
• Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation.
• Support scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
• Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Must hold a Texas FAL license.
• Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 3 within 12 months of employment.
• Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (preferred).
• Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $62,761 - $107,590 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
