Senior Fire Alarm/Security Systems Service Technician

About the role
Senior Fire Alarm/Security Systems Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems and security systems, ensuring components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to customer requirements. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will mentor less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and customer interactions will help keep buildings and their inhabitants safe.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
- Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
- Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality.
- Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material.
- Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards.
- Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects.
- Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
- Experience with security door hardware, card reader packages, and troubleshooting Access Control, Intrusion, and Video IP systems.
- Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
- Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within the first 2 years.
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
- 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems (preferred).
- Security experience includes certification in CCURE 9000, Genetec (Synergis & Omnicast), Lenel (S2), BOSCH (intrusion), and Milestone (Video) (preferred).
- 40% travel required to the greater Sacramento and Fresno areas (preferred).
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 (preferred).
- California Blue Card (preferred).

Pay
The pay range for this position is $71,329 - $122,278 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
