What You'll Be Responsible For
- Enhancing visibility into infrastructure and platform-related technology spending across public cloud and on-premises environments.
- Developing reporting, forecasting, allocation, and governance frameworks that support informed technology investment decisions.
- Prioritizing cost awareness and operational efficiency by partnering with technical and business stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for infrastructure optimization through workload analysis, resource utilization reviews, lifecycle management, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Supporting financial allocation models and improving ownership, tagging, and attribution standards across technology platforms.
- Investigating spending trends, anomalies, and variances while providing clear recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assisting engineering teams with infrastructure cost planning and evaluating tradeoffs related to architecture, deployment models, and platform selection.
- Building automation, integrations, and internal tooling to streamline reporting, governance, and financial operations processes.
- Supporting cost management initiatives related to emerging technologies, including AI, data platforms, and accelerated compute resources.
- Contributing to the ongoing maturity of FinOps practices, standards, and operational frameworks.
Desired Technical Background
- Strong understanding of AWS and/or Azure environments.
- Exposure to hybrid infrastructure, virtualization technologies, storage platforms, and enterprise computing environments.
- Experience with technology cost reporting, financial analysis, optimization initiatives, and governance programs.
- Strong SQL and Python skills for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
- Experience creating dashboards and executive reporting using modern analytics and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, and financial accountability frameworks.
- Ability to assess infrastructure decisions through the lens of cost, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to cloud financial management or FinOps methodologies.
- Experience with cloud spend optimization tools and financial management platforms.
- Knowledge of infrastructure lifecycle planning, capacity management, and enterprise technology investments.
- Experience supporting cloud commitments, vendor negotiations, consumption planning, or financial modeling.
- Understanding of cost drivers associated with AI, machine learning, data platforms, or GPU-intensive workloads.
