Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Lead

Job Summary
The Sr. Financial Analyst plays a key role in strengthening the company’s financial performance through forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, business analytics, and strategic financial analysis. As the organization’s first dedicated FP&A resource, this position offers the opportunity to build and shape scalable financial planning, reporting, dashboarding, and analytics processes from the ground up. Working closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional business partners, the Sr. Financial Analyst will help improve financial visibility, support operational decision-making, and identify opportunities to drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the continued development and improvement of the company’s FP&A function, including forecasting methodologies, KPI reporting, and financial analytics processes
- Support annual budgeting, long-range planning, and recurring forecasting activities in partnership with Finance leadership
- Develop and maintain financial models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity models to support strategic planning, pricing, and operational decision-making
- Perform variance analysis and identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability and business performance
- Partner cross-functionally with operational leaders to provide financial insights and improve visibility into key business drivers
- Build, maintain, and analyze dashboards, KPIs, and business intelligence reporting tools using Power BI, EDA, and related analytics platforms
- Drive process improvement, reporting automation, and standardization initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability within financial reporting and analysis
- Prepare financial presentations, dashboards, and reporting materials for leadership meetings, business reviews, and strategic planning discussions
- Support landed cost analysis, pricing initiatives, and other cost optimization efforts through detailed financial analysis and modeling
- Contribute to special projects and strategic financial initiatives across the organization
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, operational finance, or business analytics within manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or other product-based industries
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business performance reporting in an operational business environment
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, complex formulas, and large data set analysis
- Experience using ERP and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, SQL, EDA, or similar business intelligence and reporting tools
- Experience building dashboards, KPI reporting, and scalable financial reporting processes
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset with the ability to identify inconsistencies, validate assumptions, and uncover root causes within data
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- The ability to assess financial performance, identify trends and risks, and provide actionable business insights and recommendations
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently, ask thoughtful questions, and drive process improvements in evolving environments
- The ability to maintain a hybrid presence at our Wauwatosa office for collaboration, with up to 15% travel to the Corporate Office for internal meetings and business needs
