Responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational decision-making.
- Monitor budget execution and financial performance to ensure compliance with federal regulations, appropriations law, and agency policies.
- Develop financial reports, spending analyses, forecasts, and budget justifications for senior leadership.
- Oversee financial management activities including budgeting, accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit readiness.
- Cover financial reviews and identify risks, trends, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Advise leadership on financial management policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and funding strategies.
- Cook with program managers and stakeholders to evaluate funding requirements and recommend resource allocation solutions.
- Support audits, corrective action plans, and financial management reviews involving internal and external oversight organizations.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of financial data and financial management systems.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of federal financial management principles, budgeting, accounting, and appropriations law.
- Strong understanding of budget formulation, execution, fund control, and financial reporting in a federal environment.
- Experience developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of federal financial systems and reporting requirements.
- Advanced analytical, forecasting, and financial management skills.
- Ability to interpret financial data and present recommendations to executive leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.
