About the role
Based in California, New York, or Washington D.C., the Senior Financial Business Analyst will analyze, visualize, and present business data to support decision-making across various departments of the firm. This role emphasizes visual storytelling, presentation aesthetics, and data clarity to ensure insights resonate with senior leadership and reports to the Business Intelligence Manager.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to generate actionable insights.
- Develop and deliver regular and ad-hoc reports and analysis on key performance metrics (KPIs).
- Utilize resources across the BI and Finance teams to efficiently prepare data and manage competing requests.
- Translate financial data into compelling visual narratives through clear, impactful charts, dashboards, and graphics.
- Create visually polished PowerPoint presentations that communicate complex financial concepts with precision and clarity.
- Ensure all deliverables maintain a high standard of aesthetics, consistency, and professionalism, in line with firm branding.
- Present findings in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders, such as partners, department heads, and executives.
- Work cross-functionally with different teams (e.g., legal, finance, marketing, HR) to understand data needs.
- Conceptualize and build interactive dashboards and advanced visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau).

- Ability to view business issues in perspective, follow up on projects/assignments, and prioritize across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills to build and maintain effective relationships with senior management, attorneys, and staff.
- Strong customer focus, responsiveness, and ability to work well under pressure while continually striving for efficiency and excellence.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
- 4+ years of related work experience is required; law firm experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (formulas, macros, pivots, data manipulation).
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint with a demonstrated ability to create visually engaging presentations is required.
- Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) strongly preferred.

Pay
The annual compensation range for this position is $95,000–$110,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
