About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, interpreting, and identifying trends in data. The role will require the development of standard and ad hoc data reports to be used in quality reporting, performance improvement activities, and other operational reports. They will perform these duties while meeting the mission and goals of Mercy Health ministry, as well as meeting the regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Examines historical and projected financial data to provide valuable data upon which to make relevant financial decisions.
- Performs a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Manages the financial relationship with vendors, including financial reclassifications and adjustments to the financial baseline as a result of approved contract changes.
- Resolves questions regarding the Workday cost centers; reviews and manages directly paid expenses to ensure streamlined invoicing processes.
- Conducts monthly invoice reviews and validates savings achieved by approved gain share eligible initiatives.
- Develops standard and ad hoc reports.
- Assists in imports or exports of data.
- Performs periodic audits of data sources.
- Maintains a current knowledge of healthcare trends and operations.
- Assists other teams and participates in assigned projects as a financial support resource.
- Reviews and analyzes financial statements and reports.
- Tracks KPIs and prepares financial reports.
- Assists with budgeting and monthly close processes.
- Understands key business drivers.
- Assists clients with financial guidance.
- Develops financial projections and builds financial models.
- Performs research and analysis as required.
- Ensures compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and other regulations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or comparable discipline; or combination of post-secondary education and experience.
Work Experience
3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis or accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both capital and operating expense management.

Pay
Range: $35.82 – $55.52
