Senior Financial Analyst - Software Engineering

About the role

The role is part of the Software Engineering FP&A Organization based out of Santa Clara campus. It requires high-level analytical proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong partnership with Engineering leaders supporting global investments to ensure that spending is aligned to key objectives and initiatives.
  • Investments include Cloud, contractors, software and hardware infrastructure, and licenses.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technology landscape and company strategy to analyze investments, identify cost-effective solutions, assess project priorities, and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders.
  • Prepare forecasts for investments, operating and capital expenditures and analyze quarterly variances to forecasts by identifying associated risks and opportunities.
  • Establish efficient processes for monthly and quarterly close and performance reporting.
  • Implement practices for budget management and investment optimization.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools such as Claude, Codex, or Cursor to accelerate financial analysis, automate recurring reporting workflows, and enhance forecast accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, Data Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, with experience in analysis, forecasting, and modeling preferably within global high-tech.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic recommendations to Finance and Engineering leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced financial modeling, with ability to build and convey business insight.
  • Able to multi-task, work independently, and in teams to identify and solve problems collectively.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated work using AI-enabled tools to simplify tasks and analyses.
  • Solid business judgment with ability to think strategically and plan effectively; be hands on, accurate, with attention to details, and results oriented.
  • SAP ECC, S4 and BPC, Power BI, or SQL skills.
  • Strong understanding of industry technology and market dynamics in areas directly related to NVIDIA’s products, research and development.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for financial analysis and process automation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
