Senior Financial Analyst, R2L Sub Same Day and Online Grocery - Finance
About the role
We are seeking a proactive Senior Financial Analyst with a can-do approach and a record of delivering results to join the R2L Sub Same Day (SSD) and Online Grocery Finance team. This team is responsible for last-mile transportation and packaging materials spend across North America. Our Finance teams partner closely with operations to influence strategic direction, drive operational excellence, and make sound investment decisions, with the primary goal of improving customer experience while ensuring long-term profitability. We experiment, fail fast, learn, and scale rapidly while maintaining a data-driven decision-making culture.
The successful candidate will lead financial analyses, reconciliation processes, and process improvements, partnering with finance and business leaders across tech and operations to design and maintain performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers.
Responsibilities
- Identify basic control risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps.
- Deliver weekly/monthly financial close using financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets.
- Work with a variety of data sources, identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, escalate discrepancies, and fix or partner to resolve data issues.
- Communicate data (written and verbal) clearly and concisely, adjusting style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues.
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
- Drive self-development within the Finance Community by participating in events, initiatives, and projects, and share knowledge within and outside the team.
- Contribute to work-life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer for new team members.
- Prioritize high-impact projects and programs that drive Amazon forward.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
- MBA or CPA.
- Knowledge of Tableau.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Pay
- USA, NY, New York: $73,600.00 - $128,800.00 USD annually
- USA, TN, Nashville: $60,200.00 - $105,400.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Irving: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Bellevue: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
