About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will directly manage the News Group Marketing budget and several other News Group HQ P&Ls, as well as handle critical reporting and analysis for the portfolio-wide News Group Capital budget. As an operational finance lead, this role partners with production executives to implement strategic initiatives, prepare and maintain budgetary commitments, and support daily operations. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance, NBC News Group.
Responsibilities
- Manage the P&Ls for NBC News Marketing and News HQ departments, including preparing budgets, submitting regular financial pacing updates, partnering with production executives, and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Lead regular capital expenditure analyses to monitor investments in on-air production equipment, studio infrastructure, and digital product development.
- Partner with technical leaders on strategic initiatives to streamline operations, manage costs, and enhance business decision-making.
- Prepare executive updates for senior management, distilling complex information into simple, actionable insights.
- Complete monthly close deliverables for all managed departments, including journal entries, variance analysis, headcount analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Facilitate daily operations for all managed departments, including accounts payable transactions and T&E/PCard compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent computer and analytical skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient use of SAP/Business Warehouse/BPC or similar accounting software.
- Must be willing to work in New York City.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000
Schedule
Hybrid: This position requires contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
