Senior Financial Analyst - Investment Operations
About the role
Performs accounting, financial reporting, and analysis functions. Applies financial analysis knowledge and judgment to diverse and complex activities within Investment Reporting. Primarily accountable for the day-to-day coordination and prioritization of asset transfer requests, resolving data exceptions, completing reconciliations, and improving data and processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination, communications, and prioritization of asset transfer requests to ensure timely fulfillment of business requirements.
- Responsible for PIMR accounting and reporting.
- Maintain core system integrity and data quality in accordance with accounting policy and processing procedures to ensure financial data accuracy.
- Oversee, review, and approve reconciliations for fixed income assets in ARCs.
- Partner with ERP to understand system functionality and support Investment Reporting reconciliation requirements.
- Oversee, review, and monitor suspense balances for fixed income assets.
- Perform monthly reconciliations from source back to general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records; prepare correcting journal entries as needed.
- Assist with preparation of regulatory financials on a Statutory accounting basis.
- Respond to requests from management and other departments; troubleshoot problems using knowledge of information flow.
- Maintain positive, proactive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Recommend process improvements to achieve greater efficiencies by documenting business requirements and participating in testing efforts.
- May mentor other analysts with reconciliations and operational processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, with degree.
- Advanced computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of investment vehicles such as securities, residential mortgage loans, and private equities.
- Working knowledge of reporting on a Statutory basis.
- Customer-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with complex problem-solving both individually and within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to multi-task and work effectively both individually and within a team.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid office environment (in office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven office environment.
- Occasional travel.
Pay
Salary range: $80,000.00 – $106,000.00 annually. Actual starting pay is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location (in-office, hybrid, remote), and operational needs. Salary may vary above or below the stated range as permitted by applicable law. This position is typically eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance at the company’s discretion.
