Senior Financial Analyst - Homebuilding

About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst – Homebuilding serves as a key financial partner to division leadership, providing analytical support and strategic insights to drive operational and financial performance. This role is responsible for assisting with financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and process improvements, ensuring alignment between division and corporate financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support to address critical business issues impacting division homebuilding operations, offering insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Participate in division's operations meetings and collaborate with the division finance manager and division leadership to identify, analyze, and address financial and operational challenges.
• Aid division leadership in developing the annual business plan and quarterly reforecasts, contributing key inputs and assumptions to support the monthly five-year long-range P&L and balance sheet.
• Perform detailed budget-to-actual variance analysis on monthly division financials, identifying key drivers of variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare financial reports, summaries, and analyses to division management or the division finance manager, providing clear and actionable insights.
• Support corporate finance initiatives and special projects as assigned, ensuring alignment between division and corporate financial objectives.
• Work with the corporate finance team on submitting assigned tasks, completing monthly corporate reporting in a timely manner.
• Review and prepare monthly operating reports to enhance division operations.
• Review operating budgets such as land development and indirect budgets for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct thorough and detailed evaluations of assumptions used in feasibility proformas and open-for-sale proformas, ensuring accuracy and reasonableness.
• Drive efficiency by developing automated tools, eliminating redundancies, standardizing reporting processes, and improving data management practices.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis, financial modeling, and other projects assigned by the manager.
• Serve as a key liaison between the division and corporate finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on financial goals.
• Maintain professionalism in all internal and external interactions, upholding the company's reputation and fostering strong relationships.
• Adhere to company safety standards and actively promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis and/or reporting
• Strong knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Business Intelligence Tools a plus

Pay

$98,400.00 to $107,500.00 annually
