Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Ops
About the role
This role provides critical forecast modeling, analysis, and support for the Life Sciences businesses of Genomics, Stem Cell, and Biorepository. The Sr. Analyst will be part of the greater Operations FP&A group, reporting to the Director of Finance, Life Science Operations, with dotted-line support to the Senior Director – Laboratory Services and VP Stem Cell & Biorepository Operations.
The position supports quarterly forecasting, annual planning, and monthly variance analysis for Life Science Operations (Genomics, Stem Cell & Cryo). The individual will collaborate with key business partners and the accounting team to evolve forecasting models, support investment decisions, and ensure business teams understand transactional activity to drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Analyze variances to actual results in the cost of goods sold area of the P&L and synthesize commentary for monthly business reviews.
- Ensure planning and forecasting meet key deadlines set by the FP&A and Operations FP&A teams.
- Actively participate in the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, including preparation of analysis, reporting, and resolving procedural issues.
- Aggregate and forecast capital investment needs and support business partners on specific investment analysis decisions.
- Recommend process and mapping improvements to enable accurate reporting of key metrics.
- Leverage a strong foundation in accounting to understand complex Life Sciences accounting and partner effectively with the accounting team.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus; understanding of standard cost is strongly desired, but adaptability to unique business models is essential.
- Direct, hands-on experience creating, tracking, and controlling actual, forecast, and budget metrics.
- Ability to navigate and map through multiple sets of complex Global Charts of Accounts.
- Solid experience with a Financial Consolidation system (e.g., HFM, Adaptive Planning, or similar) is required.
- Willingness to take an active role and collaborate closely with business partners.
- Experience creating financial models in Excel to integrate input assumptions and develop forecast outputs.
- Ability to analyze actual vs. plan results, summarize variance drivers, and provide clear interpretations to management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, graphs/charts).
- Experience with Navision, Microsoft Dynamics (D365), or a similar ERP system is a plus.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural, global environment across multiple organizational levels.

Pay
The good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $92,803 to $122,404. The actual amount offered is determined by factors including location, skills, and experience.
