Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis across a growing real estate investment and operating platform. This is a highly visible, hands-on finance role for an analytical professional who enjoys building financial models, analyzing performance trends, improving reporting processes, and partnering with teams across the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with Accounting, Asset Management, and Operations to provide meaningful financial insights that support business decisions and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across a national real estate portfolio.
• Partner with Asset Management and Operations teams to develop property-level budgets and operating assumptions.
• Analyze actual results compared to budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and key financial drivers.
• Maintain and enhance forecasting models related to revenue, occupancy, expenses, and Net Operating Income (NOI).
• Provide financial analysis to support planning initiatives and business decisions.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and financial reporting tools.
• Analyze property-level and portfolio-level financial performance.
• Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations of financial results.
• Support management reporting through detailed financial analysis and insights.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Asset Management, and Operations teams to analyze business performance.
• Evaluate the financial impact of operational initiatives, including revenue strategies, occupancy changes, expense management, and capital projects.
• Support financial modeling, scenario analysis, and performance reviews.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights for business partners.
• Partner with Accounting to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational performance.
• Enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and forecasting models.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and processes.
• Support automation initiatives and continued improvements within Finance.
• Assist with the implementation and effective use of technology and reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field required.
• 5–8 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, real estate finance, accounting, or related roles.
• Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Real estate experience strongly preferred, including multifamily, active adult, senior living, commercial real estate, or related investment platforms.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts and insights.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive problem solver who enjoys both analysis and execution.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting financial planning and analysis for a multi-property portfolio.
• Experience partnering with operations, asset management, or investment teams.
• Familiarity with real estate performance metrics, including Net Operating Income (NOI), Occupancy, Revenue Growth, Expense Ratios, and Cash Flow Performance.
