Senior Financial Analyst, AWS Networking Infrastructure Finance

This role is on the AWS Infrastructure team. We provide end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the low cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. This includes supporting business owners in building, operating and innovating our Cloud data centers. We support operations, business development, and engineering.
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our worldwide Networking Finance team. The Networking Finance team supports the Networking Engineering organization, responsible for designing and deploying network infrastructure across our global data center fleet. This includes functions like network hardware procurement, network capacity planning, network architecture, and infrastructure deployment. A key focus of this role is helping manage Networking Capital Expense, driving visibility, forecasting accuracy, and cost optimization across the networking portfolio. This role primarily partners with networking engineering teams to provide financial insights that optimize networking investment decisions, ensuring we deliver the right capacity at the right cost while supporting the rapid growth of our network infrastructure.
About The Team
The AWS Networking Infrastructure Finance team is responsible for managing networking capital expenditure investments in partnership with networking engineers to build a cost-efficient infrastructure supporting AWS services. Our team plays a crucial role in ensuring that AWS maintains its competitive edge through strategic financial planning and analysis. We work in a collaborative environment where innovative thinking is encouraged and your contributions directly impact how AWS allocates billions in infrastructure investments. As we continue to evolve our methodologies and tools, we're looking for team members who can help us drive efficiency and accuracy in our financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial insights that optimize networking investment decisions, ensuring the right capacity at the right cost.
- Manage Networking Capital Expense, driving visibility, forecasting accuracy, and cost optimization across the networking portfolio.
- Partner with networking engineering teams to support functions like network hardware procurement, capacity planning, architecture, and infrastructure deployment.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- Dissect financial data and identify patterns that support business strategy.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- Advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
- 3+ years of experience contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- 3+ years of experience dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Pay
- USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Herndon: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
