Senior Financial Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with month end close activities for manufacturing and supply chain operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and close checklist completion.
  • Prepare monthly accrual schedules with supporting documentation for freight, utilities, temporary labor, repairs and maintenance, inbound and outbound logistics, and reconcile inventory, WIP, and finished goods accounts.
  • Prepare financial variance analysis comparing actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Analyze daily and monthly work order variances, identify abnormal variances, and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Partner with production, planning, and procurement teams to investigate recurring variances and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger by recording asset additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation.
  • Support equipment capitalization by collecting capital expenditure documentation, confirming placed in service dates, and tagging new assets.
  • Monitor capital spending against approved projects and prepare status reports.
  • Develop recurring reports and key performance indicators, including cost per case, cost of manufacturing (COM), scrap and waste, freight costs, supply chain performance metrics, and support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses related to cost savings initiatives, capital investments, supplier sourcing changes, and process improvements.
  • Respond to financial data requests from plant leadership and supply chain management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Manufacturing or supply chain accounting experience preferred.
  • Understanding of standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and collaborating with plant operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
