Senior Financial Analyst

About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will ensure accurate and timely reporting, support data-driven decision-making, and develop/maintain models to support financial plans and forecasts.
Responsibilities
- Partner with publishing and animation teams to analyze sales and P&L performance versus various financial benchmarks
- Collaborate with accounting team to support month-end and quarter-end close
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting, analysis, and key metrics that enable business decision-making
- Work with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Create financial models and perform profitability analyses to support strategic planning and evaluate new business opportunities
- Monitor and track key financial metrics, and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
- Identify areas for process improvement and support the implementation of best practices in FP&A processes to increase efficiency and improve business outcomes
- Provide financial insight, and prepare dashboards and presentations for leadership team
- Stay up to date on industry and market trends to inform financial planning and analysis
- Perform ad hoc requests and drive cross-functional analytic projects for senior management
Requirements
- 2+ years of finance experience or related forecast/planning experience
- Strong business acumen with high intellectual curiosity
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player mindset with ability to work cross functionally to solve complex issues
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze complex business scenarios by building financial models
- Experience working with large datasets
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in media/entertainment/publishing industry
- Interest in anime and/or manga
- Experience with top ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite, Oracle, SAP) and data analytics software (e.g. Essbase)
Schedule
This is a Regular Full-Time position (40 hours per week) with core hours of 10 am to 4 pm with some flexibility as needed. The position is open to candidates local to the San Francisco Bay Area. VIZ Media operates on a hybrid schedule with 1 day of work onsite at our downtown San Francisco office expected weekly.
Pay
$130,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, with additional variable compensation.
