About the Role
Lead financial analysis including complex modeling, projections, reports, and presentations using financial and encounter reporting tools and data. Assist in the development and update of the organization's Long Range Financial Plan model, including scenario modeling and evaluation of projected operating performance, liquidity, and leverage.
Responsibilities
- Assist in treasury functions such as cash management, investment management, and debt compliance.
- Provide key support and analysis in the annual budget preparation process.
- Perform financial risk and care/cost variation analysis using advanced statistical techniques.
- Oversee financial and market analysis on internal initiatives and external business development opportunities.
- Stay informed on critical financial and healthcare trends through industry readings, conferences, and other forums.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase data accuracy or decrease time spent on models/reports.
- Prepare monthly management reports and communicate trends and issues impacting the business.
- Mentor and assist in the development of lower-level Financial Analysts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in the best interest of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required—preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a seasoned Financial Analyst, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking and analytic skills to formulate recommendations and resolve problems.
- Exceptional statistical and data-modeling skills with a high degree of accuracy in complex financial analysis.
- Strong financial acumen, including understanding the relationship between income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience developing and presenting content to senior leaders and other groups.
- Ability to independently prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and manage timelines.
Skills
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau strongly desired.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience with financial and encounter-based software programs such as Axiom and DecisionTools (or other statistics, optimization, and Monte Carlo simulation tools) desired.
- Able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods for solutions.
- May manage projects independently or lead/direct the work of others.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented, and complex healthcare environment.
- Full understanding of organization practices, policies, and procedures.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperatures. Work requires prolonged computer use and clear visual ability to read numbers.
