About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Operating Tax Policy Team by providing analytical reporting backed by data and research. This role focuses on data analysis, metrics, and process controls to support policy development across U.S. and Canadian operations. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams are essential.
Responsibilities
- Query, analyze, and interpret tax and transactional data for trends, compliance risks, and operational impacts.
- Prepare monthly reports and analytics for tax policy and compliance metrics.
- Assist with proactive research, legislative monitoring, and policy development (identification and recommendations).
- Develop and calculate measures/metrics for tax engine controls.
- Provide analytical support for tax engine configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with customer support and cross-functional communication.
- Support departmental improvement projects, including automation and cost recovery initiatives.
- Support audit processes.
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of financial analytics or tax analytics experience required.
- 2 years of business, operational, or compliance experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.
- Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Data mining and reporting tool experience (Crystal, SQL, Business Objects, etc.) preferred.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Access required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule.
