Senior Financial Analyst

About the role

Optum Care West is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support regional financial reporting and consolidation across our healthcare organization. In this role, you'll coordinate inputs across local markets and national finance partners, consolidate results, develop ad hoc models, and deliver clear insights that inform decision-making and measure business performance. This high-visibility role requires precision, strong communication, and outstanding attention to detail. You'll work closely with accounting and other finance professionals with the intention of guiding our success as a global industry leader.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift during normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST
• Occasional overtime may be necessary given business need
• On-the-job training during Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Office-based schedule with 3 in-office days per week at 2720 N Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close processes by consolidating results and preparing clear summaries for senior leadership
• Assist in creating presentations for senior leadership, translating complex financial data into strategic insights
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling to support investment decisions, operational planning, and cost management initiatives
• Collaborate heavily with Finance and Market resources, shared services, and operational teams to meet reporting needs and ensure accuracy
• Drive monthly and quarterly IOI variance analyses by identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to optimize performance and strengthen financial planning
• Build and maintain advanced Excel-based financial bridge models to quantify changes in key drivers of business performance
• Support quarterly forecasting cycles and annual budget planning, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or another related field
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
• 2+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, or financial analysis
• Experience with computers and Windows based applications
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V Look ups, Pivot tables, Power Query) and experience in PowerPoint for executive-level presentations
• Understanding of corporate reporting
• Ability to work onsite 3 days a week
• Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST with occasional overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare finance, especially supporting shared services or technology initiatives
• Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan, Planful, PowerBI, Essbase, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP/forecasting tools
• Experience with value-based care financial models and outcome-driven budgeting
• Familiarity with cost allocation models and real-time performance monitoring tools
• Demonstrated success in aligning financial planning with operational and strategic goals

Telecommuting Requirements

• Reside within commutable distance to the office at 2720 N Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, NV
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay

• Salary range: $72,800 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment
