Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role
This role will provide critical finance/FP&A support (including financial and KPI modeling, financial oversight with relevant driver explanation) and guidance to internal customers such as the Client Management and Marketing teams on strategic business decisions that drive customer sales, retention, and cost savings.
Responsibilities
- Develop financial and business acumen to become a valued thought partner to business and department leaders.
- Review business trends and partner with business leaders to understand KPIs and develop recommendations for operational optimization and cost savings.
- Prepare monthly reports including KPIs, rolling forecasts, and financial variance reports and explanations for review by senior management.
- Prepare both executive-level quality and detailed statistical analysis and reporting.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and validity of the information being reported.
- Partner with accounting to align forecast/budget with actuals.
- Maintain Excel models used for performance and variance analysis.
- Support ongoing initiatives to automate, improve, and streamline the analysis and reporting process.
- Work on routine assigned finance responsibilities with minimal supervision and ad-hoc projects with proactiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Statistics. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant financial planning, reporting, and analysis experience.
- Insurance business knowledge preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel. Power BI, VBA, or Power Query skills (a plus but not necessary).
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication.
- Familiarity with accounting concepts. GAAP knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work in the Austin, TX office or Urbandale, IA office 4 days of the week, with Fridays being remote if located near one of the AMBA offices.
