Senior financial accountant - Insurance - Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Deliver accurate balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end close process.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic business decisions.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated workflows using Alteryx to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Partner with finance, actuarial, and business stakeholders to improve reporting, controls, and operational effectiveness.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, including process standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audit activities.

Requirements

• Previous accounting experience gained within a Big Four accounting firm or a life insurance company.
• Reinsurance experience would be a bonus.
• Demonstrated experience using Alteryx to automate finance processes, reporting, and data preparation.
• A strong interest in finance transformation, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.
• CPA or other qualification preferred.
