Senior Finance Manager, GPU Demand Planning

About the role

Microsoft’s CPIM team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s AI strategy. The team’s charter is to enable AI transformation and product growth in the most cost-efficient way possible. This role will join the Core AI team and be responsible for demand and capacity planning for Anthropic models in the Foundry platform. It is an opportunity to own an AI workload independently and drive engagement on demand planning and margin strategy across engineering, business planning, and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Publish executive-grade monthly and quarterly financial and operational summaries, including insights to highlight risks and opportunities impacting bottom lines in a timely manner.
• Drive reviews with executive leadership, clearly communicating results and providing recommendations.
• Lead demand and capacity planning for Foundry Anthropic capacity, partnering with product teams to shape token and GPU forecasts for feature launches, user and usage growth.
• Own analytical insights and modeling of capacity drivers and GPU utilization; influence product investment prioritization and pricing through ROI analyses.
• Articulate findings into high-quality communications and facilitate executive decision-making across engineering, marketing, and finance leaders.
• Continuously improve and evolve COGS and Gross Margin insights garnered through financial results and KPIs, with the goal of influencing the business positively and delivering crisp storytelling.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
• OR equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/finance or computer science/engineering; MBA preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience with progressive advancement within your discipline.
• Strong partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence business partners without direct authority and to appropriately push back when required.
• Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with evolving technology and business model trends.
• Deep understanding of the technology industry, particularly commercial public and private cloud services, business models, and economics (strongly preferred).
• Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way with executive-level oral and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high-value/high-impact project results through both individual and virtual-team efforts.
• Strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and ability to think strategically.

Pay

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. A different range applies to specific work locations, including the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, where the base pay range is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
