Senior Finance Manager / Director of Finance

About the role

A single family office managing around $1 billion is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to oversee financial operations across a diversified balance sheet. The role involves working with a team of 13 professionals, including two dedicated finance staff members, and reports directly to the Principal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, and ArchAssess and refine financial processes, internal controls, and workflows
• Lead liquidity planning, monitor account balances, and prepare cash projections and budgets
• Manage accounts payable, including operating invoices, wire transfers, and Bill.com processing
• Direct management of one senior accountant
• Facilitate month-end close and reconcile various accounts
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and prepare tax workpapers
• Prepare quarterly net worth and spending reports
• Manage accounting operations for family-owned businesses and ensure compliance with sales tax filings
• Review operating expenses and prepare spending reports
• Manage accounting for the family's charitable foundation and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations
• Act as liaison between family and financial advisors, bankers, and attorneys
• Assist with documentation for new investments and track capital calls, distributions, and valuations
• Oversee compliance with internal control procedures

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of accounting experience, preferably in a family office or UHNW environment
• CPA license is a plus
• Experience with Sage Intacct is required

Pay

Salary: $175,000 – $250,000, Plus Bonus
