About the role

The Senior Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, payroll administration, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit and tax preparation support, and investment-related accounting activities. The role is designed for a professional with a strong accounting and/or tax foundation who can work across multiple systems and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of NWAF’s financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supports accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Administers payroll, including processing employee time sheets and benefits calculations.
  • Performs financial reporting and analysis, providing insights to management.
  • Prepares and reviews tax returns and other tax-related documents.
  • Collaborates with external auditors to ensure compliance and prepare for audits.
  • Manages investment-related accounting activities, including record-keeping and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with general ledger systems and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Qualifications

    • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.

    Skills

    • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
    • Experience with financial modeling and budgeting.
    • Understanding of corporate governance and regulatory requirements.

    Pay

    Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
