About the role
The Senior Finance Associate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, payroll administration, reconciliations, financial reporting, audit and tax preparation support, and investment-related accounting activities. The role is designed for a professional with a strong accounting and/or tax foundation who can work across multiple systems and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of NWAF’s financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Supports accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Administers payroll, including processing employee time sheets and benefits calculations.
- Performs financial reporting and analysis, providing insights to management.
- Prepares and reviews tax returns and other tax-related documents.
- Collaborates with external auditors to ensure compliance and prepare for audits.
- Manages investment-related accounting activities, including record-keeping and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with general ledger systems and financial software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Experience with financial modeling and budgeting.
- Understanding of corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
