Key job responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models to support planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for outbound transportation costs
  • Conduct financial analysis for last mile network to optimize cost-to-serve — including evaluating volume rebalancing across service areas and carriers, analyzing cost implications of alternative last mile delivery models (e.g., e-bikes, island deliveries), and assessing the economics of scaling capacity through asset-light models vs. owned infrastructure
  • Support business case development and investment analysis for transportation network initiatives, including capacity expansion and carrier strategy
  • Use financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets; produce plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations across planning cycles
  • Collect and analyze quantitative data to develop relevant reports that surface cost drivers, risks, and opportunities for business partners
  • Communicate financial results and analysis (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner; adjust style for various audiences
  • Create effective business partnerships and provide data-driven guidance to support decision-making during rapidly evolving business events
  • Identify opportunities to improve, scale, or simplify finance tools and reporting mechanisms across the team
  • Participate in team activities and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment; support the onboarding and development of new team members

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Knowledge of and experience applying Generative AI tools to accelerate financial analysis, automate reporting workflows, or enhance decision-making (e.g., using AI-assisted modeling, natural language querying of data, or AI-powered scenario analysis)

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

USA, NY, New York - $73,600.00 - $128,800.00 USD annually

USA, TX, Irving - $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually

USA, VA, Arlington - $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually

USA, WA, Bellevue - $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
