Senior Field Specialist - Data Engineering & Streaming (Pre-Sales)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Field Specialist - Data Engineering & Streaming (Pre-Sales) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will serve as a trusted technical partner to prospects and customers, helping shape solutions for modern data engineering and real-time streaming needs. The position will focus on demonstrating scalable architectures, guiding solution sizing, and translating complex technical requirements into practical, customer-ready roadmaps. You will also collaborate closely with sales, product, and technical teams to support the full pre-sales cycle and strengthen customer outcomes. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $146,000 – $230,000 annually Responsibilities Lead customer engagements by showcasing scalable data engineering architectures Support proofs of concept and solution sizing during the sales cycle for data preparation and streaming use cases Troubleshoot complex data pipeline issues to help ensure customer success Drive technical enablement through education materials and sharing best practices Influence product roadmap through customer feedback and requirements Participate in community activities and knowledge sharing as a technical evangelist Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on customer success and product vision Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in data engineering and real-time streaming solutions Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, Airflow, NiFi, Flink, and Kafka Proven track record in architecting enterprise-grade data pipelines in cloud-based environments Experience leading proofs of concept for data-intensive applications Exceptional presentation skills for varied audiences, from data engineers to executives Ability to analyze customer data workloads and create tailored technical roadmaps Benefits Generous PTO policy Flexible work-from-home policy Support for work-life balance Mental and physical wellness programs Reimbursement for phone and internet costs Access to continued career development Inclusive employee resource groups Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
