Senior Field Service Technician (AMS)
Responsibilities
- Assists fellow technicians with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, installing, and commissioning both gas-fired and electric-driven compressor packages.
- Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities in alignment with the project's goals and objectives.
- Provides full leadership and training to both new and junior-level Field Technicians.
- Diagnose engine and compressor failures independently and provide input to the Supervisor on personnel and material needs for optimal job planning.
- Lead and complete accurate and timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the field under adverse conditions and without supervision.
- Accurately troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, Altronic, and Allen Bradley at an advanced level.
- Provide input to the Supervisor on personnel and material needs for optimal job planning.
- Lead and complete accurate and timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the field under adverse conditions and without supervision.
- Accurately complete advanced engine tuning functions to adjust engine performance and emissions for multiple major OEMs (CAT/ Waukesha).
- Possess knowledge and ability to respond and repair recurring problems and emergency services as needed independently.
- Independently lead the installation of new units, including commissioning and start-up inspections, with no supervision.
- Possess knowledge and ability to perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and other specialty tools independently.
- Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs.
- Recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and advanced vocational/technical training.
- 10+ years applicable experience.
- Proof of certification from CAT/ Waukesha (or equivalent) to: CAT Gas ICAT Gas IICAT ElectricalAriel BasicAriel MechanicalCAT 3500 ADEM IIICAT 3500 ULBWaukesha VHPCAT 3600 ADEM IIICAT 3600 Master MechanicCAT Failure AnalysisWaukesha 9390.
- Must also stay current on all updated OEM model specific training.
