Overview

Veeco is seeking an ambitious Senior Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco's Laser based Annealing technology and drive customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a strategic customer with the objective of adopting a new technology through installation and start-up, sustaining, and troubleshooting of Semiconductor equipment. This position involves domestic and international travel (as needed) for training and support of other accounts. Position based in Hillsboro, Oregon near our customer site.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies
  • Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up all customer’s and Veeco’s protocols related to safety and security
  • Isolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action using model-based problem solving methods and able to document the learnings
  • Aid with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs with the ability to suggest continuous improvements
  • Develop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention
  • Drive onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the targeted site
  • Escalate and communicate all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports and able to use that to improve knowledge and expertise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field, preferably Electrical and Optical area
  • At least 8 years of experience in a technical service, field service, or customer support position
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment
  • Knowledge of annealing laser annealing, or similar Optical/Laser semiconductor process equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of machine vision systems, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer programming
  • System integration, test, and debug skills and ability to review documentation including schematics to suggest game plans
  • Able to implement learnings from training and from previous experience to enable documented resolutions and improvements in the equipment performance
  • Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needs
  • Able to build excellent customer relationships
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Must be flexible for emergency call-in work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Salary And Benefits

  • The expected salary range for this position is $84,984.00 - $113,312.00, plus a bonus opportunity
