On-siteInformation Technology$170k–$215k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Senior Field Security Architect serves as the technical cornerstone of Prime Security's customer-facing team. This role bridges the gap between the Agentic Security Architect platform and enterprise security leaders, ensuring they realize measurable outcomes from design-stage security coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Proof of Value (POV) execution for prospects, mapping customer threat models, security workflows, and architectural patterns to Prime’s platform.
  • Build compelling, evidence-based business cases resonating with CISOs and senior buyers, collaborating with Sales to ensure these cases are effective.
  • Own the technical onboarding journey, configuring the Security Context Engine to reflect each customer’s organizational security posture, and providing strategic guidance on integrating design-stage security into their PDLC.
  • Translate customer security architecture challenges into platform requirements, contributing to Product and Engineering insights.
  • Advise customers on emerging risks from AI-generated code and how Prime’s Guard capability provides secure architecture context to AI coding assistants.
  • Provide proactive, high-touch engagement for strategic accounts, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, coordinating across engineering, product, and customer success to drive resolution.
  • Contribute to platform strategy by surfacing patterns across customer environments, identifying common integration challenges, recurring security architecture gaps, and opportunities for new use cases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Security Engineering, or similar) with at least 3 years at a senior or principal level.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Security Architect or in a security-focused role within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of product security review processes, threat modeling, and secure design principles in enterprise settings.
  • Proven track record of leading POVs and onboarding for security or developer tooling platforms with enterprise customers.
  • Extensive familiarity with engineering planning and collaboration tools like Jira, Linear, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of where security integrates across the SDLC/PDLC and the friction points that slow teams down.
  • Awareness of AI-assisted software development trends, including the security implications of AI-generated code.
  • Experience with enterprise customers in Financial Services, Healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II, FedRAMP, or similar compliance frameworks from a vendor perspective.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of threat modeling methodologies (STRIDE, PASTA, Attack Trees, LINDDUN) and practical experience applying them in design reviews.
  • Fluency with security frameworks: OWASP, NIST CSF/SSDF, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Understanding of secure-by-design principles and how they apply across the PDLC—from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Executive-level communication: ability to present security strategy to CISOs and translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Consultative problem-solving: you diagnose root causes, not just symptoms, and propose solutions that account for organizational constraints.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: comfortable working across product, engineering, sales, and customer success in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Self-directed and proactive: you anticipate customer needs and surface issues before they escalate.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: this is a senior role in a Series A company—you’ll help define the playbook, not just run it.
  • Industry certifications: CISSP, ISSAP, CSSLP, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience at a cybersecurity vendor or in a field engineering role at a security-focused startup.
  • Experience with Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), SAST/DAST tooling, or security orchestration platforms.

Skills

  • Strategic mindset of a Security Architect.
  • Technical fluency of a Solutions Engineer.
  • Relationship instincts of a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to translate technical fit into business outcomes.
  • Expertise in product security review processes, threat modeling, and secure design principles.
  • Experience with engineering planning and collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of secure-by-design principles and their application across the PDLC.
  • Executive-level communication skills.
  • Consultative problem-solving abilities.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Self-directed and proactive approach.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to anticipate customer needs.
  • Industry certifications relevant to the role.
  • Experience in a cybersecurity vendor or field engineering role.
