About the role
The Senior Scheduler will develop and maintain integrated EPC schedules from preconstruction through execution phases of projects. The Senior Scheduler will closely collaborate with other schedulers and stakeholders to coordinate work between PV, battery storage, high voltage, and services business units. In addition, this position requires providing oversight to schedulers with less experience. This role is remote with periodic travel to job sites in Arizona and New Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor assigned schedulers, supporting their personal and career development.
- Contribute to training curriculum development for company-wide schedule management.
- Participate in company onboarding to align with project controls objectives.
- Develop and maintain realistic EPC project schedules using P6 software.
- Analyze project documents (drawings, contracts) to form the basis of EPC schedules.
- Perform quantity take-offs to establish accurate activity durations.
- Consult with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project management, field) for feedback.
- Seek feedback from external stakeholders (owners, consultants) to enhance schedule accuracy and buy-in.
- Ensure schedules adhere to CPM best practices with sound logic and realistic durations.
- Attend project meetings (weekly coordination, owner) to gather updates and address schedule issues.
- Update schedules bi-monthly, incorporating actuals and monitoring critical path deviations.
- Propose corrective actions to the project team based on schedule analysis.
- Communicate schedule updates to the project teams and the scheduling manager.
- Perform "what-if" analysis for changing conditions on integrated multiple schedules.
- Lead internal and external meetings, analyzing all scopes for schedule mitigation, and propose solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive delay logs.
- Maintain all relevant contract information, including LD exposure with custom P6 reports.
- Monitor progress using company software (sunscreen) and confirm against schedule updates.
- Maintain and communicate weekly regional project status report.
- Visit job sites to build rapport and understand site-specific details.
- Train other personnel in scheduling procedures.
- Assist business development and owners in analyzing and improving project schedules.
- Support the maintenance of the P6 database (project/activity codes, file management, comments, notebooks).
- Assist with reporting efforts, ensuring core schedule structure and activity codes are maintained.
Requirements
- Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years construction scheduling experience.
- Prior scheduling experience in an EPC environment is required.
- High proficiency and experience using P6 Software.
- Strong ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methods and processes.
- Solid understanding of construction-related Critical Path Method scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including business writing skills and professional telephone manner.
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility.
- Ability to travel to job sites.
