About the role
As a Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) on our Sales team, you'll work hand-in-hand with customers, enabling them to transform our products into cutting-edge designs while building long-lasting partnerships that thrive on success.
Responsibilities
- Drive inclusive demand creation with sales and marketing; build trusted customer relationships across automotive accounts and Infineon’s product portfolio; develop tailored value propositions and application strategies.
- Translate customer application and product requirements into clear block diagrams; gather feedback and share insights with regional marketing and product lines.
- Deliver premium, equitable customer support, collaborating with second-level support to provide accurate, timely, high-quality responses while engaging customer engineers and leadership to foster long-term trust.
- Leverage expertise in automotive applications, electronic design, and systems to recommend solutions; review schematics and PCB layouts, support technical reviews, troubleshooting, and potential quality issues.
- Use digital tools to manage and scale opportunities, contacts, and support tickets; set up, demonstrate, and support Infineon evaluation boards; work in the lab with test equipment to validate concepts and resolve issues.
- Communicate inclusively with strong interpersonal, presentation, and written skills; maintain awareness of competitor solutions and adapt effectively to diverse customer applications and support needs.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
- 1–3 years in semiconductor or automotive (or equivalent), with hands-on work across analog, power, digital, and MCUs.
Skills
- Power and digital systems expertise: designing/using/supporting with MOSFETs, high-/low-side power switches, LED drivers, MCUs, Flash/RAM, plus high-voltage proficiency in HV gate drivers, IGBTs, SiC, and GaN.
- Embedded and automotive (preferred): experience with embedded systems in Tier 1/2 automotive; familiarity with embedded software on 32-bit CPU cores, IDEs, debug tools; programming in Assembly, C, C++; understanding of automotive development/qualification processes.
- Electronic design lifecycle: contributions to concept development, block diagrams, schematic capture, PCB layout, build, and debugging, backed by a strong, inclusive problem-solving approach.
- Tools and test: working knowledge of PSPICE, MathCAD, MATLAB, PLECS, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- People-centered qualities: experience nurturing customer relationships; ability to adapt to diverse applications and support needs; self-motivated, collaborative mindset that supports others.
- Ability to travel: 15% locally with some international travel.
Pay
Location: Livonia, United States
Indicative salary range for a qualified candidate: US$ 79,280 – US$ 109,010. Hourly rate will depend on the highest level of education completed.
