About the role
Raytheon’s Quality and Mission Assurance team in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an experienced Factory Quality Engineer to support a fast-paced, multi-value stream factory.
Responsibilities
- Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
- Develop strong working relationships with touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
- Support manufacturing efforts requiring operation in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and ensuring configuration management
- Develop and release First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
- Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience specifically in Quality, Operations, Engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and/or consumable materials control
- Manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, test)
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
- Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
- The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date
- The ability to obtain U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Competency and experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
- Experience in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
- Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- High computer proficiency, including skills working with Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
- Experience in PRISM, CABS, Business Warehouse, and RCAS
- AASQ Certifications preferred
